KindLocator.org is a public resource directory. You do not need an account, and the site does not ask for your name, immigration status, diagnosis, or case notes to browse resources.
No KindLocator cookies or ad tracking
The current KindLocator code sets no first-party cookies, advertising pixels, or custom analytics.

Language, saved resources, and accessibility choices stay in this browser's local storage.
What KindLocator retains
- The public site does not send saved-resource lists or language choices to a KindLocator server.
- Those preferences are stored only in this browser. Clearing site data removes them. Another browser or device will not have them.
- Contact, participation, and resource-correction forms collect only the fields you submit. Netlify processes and stores those submissions so KindLocator can review and respond. Do not include confidential client or case information.
- Calling, texting, opening directions, copying, printing, or sharing happens only after you choose the action. Your phone, browser, map provider, or destination organization then handles it under its own policy.
- The current donation interface is not a live payment checkout. KindLocator does not receive payment-card information through this site.
Hosting, search, and map providers
Like nearly every public website, delivery, optional AI matching, and map services process limited data needed to respond to your request.
Netlify hosting
Netlify delivers the site and may process technical request and security data such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and referring pages. KindLocator does not run its own visitor analytics in the current site code.

When AI matching is configured and you submit a resource search, the search phrase and a compact copy of public KindLocator resource metadata are sent through a Netlify function to the OpenAI Responses API. The request does not include saved resources, language preferences, precise device location, or an account identity. KindLocator requests no response storage, validates returned IDs against its directory, and falls back to local matching when AI is unavailable. Do not enter names, case notes, diagnoses, immigration details, or other confidential information in the search box.

When the interactive map loads, your browser requests map content from Mapbox. Mapbox can receive technical and usage information including IP address, browser or device information, map requests, and session data. Mapbox states that IP addresses are generally retained for 30 days unless needed for an ongoing security, anti-fraud, or misuse investigation.

Your browser asks permission before using device location. KindLocator does not save that location to its own server. The map centers on the area you requested, so Mapbox can infer the area being viewed from the map requests it serves. You can deny permission and continue using county and category filters.

- Use county and category filters instead of location permission.
- Clear KindLocator site data in your browser to remove saved items and preferences.
- Use a private browser window when working on a shared device.
- Do not place confidential case notes, health details, or identifying information in search, contact, or correction forms.
