KindLocator.org is a public resource directory. You do not need an account, and the site does not ask for your name, immigration status, diagnosis, or case notes to browse resources.
No KindLocator cookies or ad tracking
The current KindLocator code sets no first-party cookies, advertising pixels, or custom analytics.

Saved resources and display settings are stored in this browser. Glossary translations also use online services.
What KindLocator retains
- The public site does not upload saved-resource lists. Glossary translation requests send the selected language, as described below.
- Saved resources and display preferences are stored in this browser. Clearing site data removes them. Another browser or device will not have them.
- Contact, participation, and resource-correction forms collect only the fields you submit. Netlify processes and stores those submissions so KindLocator can review and respond. Do not include confidential client or case information.
- Calling, texting, opening directions, copying, printing, or sharing happens only after you choose the action. Your phone, browser, map provider, or destination organization then handles it under its own policy.
- Donations continue on Common Axis’s website. KindLocator does not collect payment-card details through this site.
Hosting, search, and map providers
Like nearly every public website, delivery, optional AI matching, and map services process limited data needed to respond to your request.
Netlify hosting
Netlify delivers the site and may process technical request and security data such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and referring pages. KindLocator does not run its own visitor analytics in the current site code.
Netlify privacy policyOpenAI-assisted resource matching
When AI matching is configured and you submit a resource search, the search phrase and a compact copy of public KindLocator resource metadata are sent through a Netlify function to the OpenAI Responses API. The request does not include saved resources, language preferences, precise device location, or an account identity. KindLocator requests no response storage, validates returned IDs against its directory, and falls back to local matching when AI is unavailable. Do not enter names, case notes, diagnoses, immigration details, or other confidential information in the search box.
OpenAI-assisted glossary translations
For Spanish and Haitian Creole glossary translations, the selected language and public glossary content may be processed through Netlify and OpenAI. Translations are saved in your browser and server memory for reuse. We ask OpenAI not to store its response; this does not mean the providers retain no data.

The map uses MapLibre and a local copy of Protomaps tiles, label fonts and icons. These files load from KindLocator's Netlify hosting, not a separate map provider. Netlify receives your IP address and file requests, including tile byte ranges that may reveal the area viewed. Browser caching and hosting logs mean this is not a promise that nothing is stored. Protomaps files are downloaded when we build the site, not when you visit. The map sends no telemetry to a map provider.
When you choose “near me”
Your browser asks permission before using device location to center the regional map. KindLocator does not upload the coordinates as a separate location record. The resulting tile requests go to our Netlify hosting and can reveal the area viewed. You can deny permission and continue using county and category filters. Directions open an external provider only when you choose that link.
