KindLocator is being built toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA and uses practices aligned with the federal Section 508 standards. This is a commitment and working target—not a claim of certification.

What we design for

Keyboard access

Navigation, forms, dialogs, and resource actions should work without a mouse.

Clear structure

Semantic headings, labels, focus indicators, and plain language support assistive technology.

Readable presentation

Strong contrast, responsive type, large touch targets, and browser zoom are part of the core design.

Language access

English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole share the same verified resource records.

Known limitations

Automated checks cannot prove accessibility. Third-party maps and linked provider pages may have barriers outside KindLocator’s control, and some source-provided organization details remain in their original language. We will keep combining automated, keyboard, zoom, mobile, and human review.

Report a barrier

Tell us what page or task caused difficulty, what device or assistive technology you used if comfortable, and the best way to follow up. Do not include confidential service or health details.
